Remine Family Photographs:

1920 - 1955

from the Philly Cigar Box

Back Side Scans

• A couple of these photographs had particularly interesting inscriptions on the reverse side: a poem, a funny note, or some other feature which stood out from the ordinary.

• There are also a couple of more or less blank backs which I included for use in graphic art or other design applications. You never know when you might need to mock up an old photo!

This one's hilarious: apparently Helen Elizabeth Williamson didn't like this photo too much...

This poetic inscription is a little dour for what seems like a lovely photograph...

This back side is a great blank specimen - nice size, featuring nice discolorations for texture.

This rural setting also features a nicely blank backside - the crease in the corner only makes it more interesting.

I love this posed photograph from a wintry day almost 100 years ago. The clear, old-fashioned handwriting is a great touch.

This photo of a young Kenneth Remine sporting a new jacket is unique: on the back are notes from both Mabel (to Don, c. 1957) and Gil (to Ken, c. 1980).

This particularly old photo is actually a high-quality postcard - sharp and clear as the day it was made over 95 years ago!

This picture of Kenneth Remine and his girlfriend has a hilarious note added by Gil in 1980, shortly before his death.

A great photo of a young couple clearly enjoying themselves. The note on the back seems to suggest they may have been drinking...

This 1930's photo of Mabel in a hammock has a nicely textured blank reverse side, as well as the old crinkle-cut edges.
